Photo 7: Fruit

I was running errands today -read: getting my nails done and buying a few frivolous items - so I took a swing by this great little produce shop in the neighborhood for today's photo. (It is particularly great because it is the same shop where Mimi found American style bacon, huzzah!).

It is not uncommon here to buy your produce in one shop, your meat in another, and your bread in another. You can end up getting better deals and fresher food that way, if you're willing to shop around. I have to admit that, for the most part, we've stuck to our American ways with buying most of our groceries in one larger shop, but little shops like this one are always great for finding items you can't find at the regular grocery, getting higher quality items, and - obviously - inspiring the senses.

  2. Please tell me that "jelly" is not something that we're saying now.

Also, I got extra points because you are the mayor!

  3. No. Jelly is something we are not saying. Or heaps for that matter. I was just feeling silly :)

  4. Thank goodness - I wouldn't be at all surprised if that was a thing, though!

  5. Well, it is a thing..... it's just most definitely not our thing!
