I'm Bound to Keep on Riding

Faithful Readers,

For the next six weeks, my person will be absent from the Southern Hemisphere. I am leaving Fall to inhabit Summer, soon to return for Winter. It's not quite as dramatic as that Crowded House song, "Four Seasons In One Day," but it is going to be "Three Seasons in Six Weeks."

Fear not - I will not be on Terra Australis, but I have some blogs lined up to make sure that you get your regular Opal-Hearted fix.

But, my impending departure leaves me wondering if you have any questions/requests for things you'd like to see here. For instance, I've had questions from friends about everything from "do you have grocery stores" (yes) to "aren't you worried about the sharks/crocodiles/spiders/snakes (yes, but I'm prone to irrational fears) to "will you send me some Vegemite?" (No, you're right - no one would actually ask that.)

Let's be honest, most of the rest of the world knows and thinks very little about Australia. Even with all the books I read before coming here, my pervading iconography was still "Crocodile Dundee" and "Quiqley Down Under." (mwahaha - remember that movie???). After three months, I don't claim to be any expert, but let me know if you have any questions or topics you'd like to see covered here. I'll see what I can do, mates!
(Photo of Tom Sellick respectfully ganked from: http://www.vision.net.au/~pwood/Volume1095.jpg. ... Quiqley Down Under. Heh.)

P.S. - Are you following my blog? Why not join those folks over on the left? Not to be coy, but I have pictures of koalas and you never know when they might show up here. Click "follow," if you just got a little nervous about missing them.
