Now, I have no understanding of this fascination that many travelers seem to develop with regular Tim Tams. I first became aware of the rapture that the chocolate covered biscuits evoke in many Americans when Greg Behrendt gave a euphoric monologue about the treats (and continued to discuss them for several weeks on his podcast). I then began hearing everywhere "Tim Tam This," "Tim Tam That," "Tim Tam Slam," "Tim Tam Jam" ... Well, when I finally ate my first Tim Tam, I was befuddled about what all the fuss was about. The inside cookie is your run of the mill crunchy cookie and the chocolate covering has a bit of a waxy quality. I didn't even finish the box, which you know is saying a lot, if you've followed my adoration with most things chocolate related.
Buuuuuut ... my feeling towards the Tim Tam has turned on its smug little feeling head now that I've tasted the Mint Cream variety. It's a lot like a Thin Mint Girl Scout only creamier and scientifically proven to be up to ten times more amazing.
Dear readers, if you can get your hands on some Mint Cream Tim Tams, you'd be wise to do so. I'd share some of mine, but this package is most likely not going to make it through to the end of the day.

I haven't tried the mint cream ones, but I love the caramel Tim Tams - they're so yummy :-)
ReplyDeleteCute blog!
Oh, and you've got a new subscriber now, too :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmmm ... I am open to all the flavored Tim Tams. I told my fiance that I have a BIG problem now!
ReplyDeleteThanks for following - I'm following you on Google Reader, too. So much e-stalking! ;-)
Hi! I found you over at Practically Perfect. I love Thin Mints, or anything similar. Although I have to admit that I am a Toffee Pop kinda gal. Mmmm.
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about Tim Tams over the years that when I saw them being sold in the grocery store over here, I quickly picked up a package. And then wondered what all the fuss was about. I didn't get it. But again, that's just me.
ReplyDelete@Preppy Pink Crocodile - As far as I've seen, the only Tim Tams that are available in the states are the classic ones, which are just rubbish (as the Australians would say) in my estimation. If you ever have a friend who travels to Australia or New Zealand, recruit them to bring you a box of the flavored ones. Or ten boxes.
