As it was Saturday night, Partner-in-Crime and I took this as a sign that we should have a little date. We walked down the block and got on a ferry headed for the suburb of Balmain. At the ferry wharf in Balmain, there is a small park right on the water, complete with a rose garden. There were a handful of families and couples having dinner, and we sat down our picnic blanket and toasted the sunset with a glasses of wine. It was dark when we rode the ferry back, so Luna Park, the Opera House, the Bridge and all the boats on the water were lit up. A firework display in the Harbour started up just as we got back on land, so we watched that before heading home.
It was a perfect date (and aside from the wine we brought from home, didn't cost us a dime).
